Current Responsibilities

Alexander M. Chudnoff is a vice chairman in Jones Lang LaSalle's New York office. He focuses primarily on tenant representation throughout the New York Tri-state Region, but has the resources to fulfill client requirements for other real estate services including workplace strategies and strategic planning, select owner representation, portfolio optimization and project management across the globe through Jones Lang LaSalle's worldwide platform. Mr. Chudnoff specializes in the real estate needs of financial services, technology and consumer products organizations, though he has worked with, and maintains long-term relationships with, corporations spanning the industry spectrum over the course of his career. He and partners Mitchell Konsker, Paul Glickman, Matthew Astrachan and A. Mitti Liebersohn joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 2011.


Tenant Representation

While representing the interests of tenants, Mr. Chudnoff has been responsible for the acquisition and disposition of commercial and industrial property in the greater New York area and throughout the U.S. for clients such as SAP America, Inc. (SAP AG), Dentsu Holdings USA, Inc., Zurich Financial Services Group, GreenPoint Financial, AVON Products and JetBlue Airways Corporation. Some of his most notable accomplishments as lead tenant advisor include:

  • LF USA Inc.: North American office consolidation into 125,000 s.f. at 1359 Broadway, 137,000 s.f. at 1372 Broadway, and 95,000 s.f. at 1333 Broadway, and new portfolio expansion into almost 600,000 s.f. at 350 Fifth Avenue (The Empire State Building)
  • SAP America, Inc.: New York-based executive and marketing offices consolidation into 143,000 s.f. in the South Tower of the new Hudson Yards development; leadership of the JLL team serving as exclusive advisor to SAP International's global real estate portfolio
  • Och-Ziff Capital Management: 100,000-s.f. long-term lease restructure and renewal at 9 West 57th Street
  • Highbridge Capital Management: Office relocation to 107,000 s.f. at 40 West 57th Street and back-office functions to 43,000 s.f. at 1350 Avenue of the Americas
  • Third Point LLC: Long-term lease restructure, renewal and expansion totaling 32,000 s.f. at 390 Park Avenue
  • National Financial Partners: Corporate headquarters relocation to 109,000 s.f. at 340 Madison Avenue
  • Fred Alger Management: Corporate headquarters relocation to 47,000 s.f. at 360 Park Avenue South and New Jersey back-office functions into 38,000 s.f. at Mack-Cali Plaza I, Haborside Financial Center, Jersey City
  • Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P.: Headquarters consolidation into 285,000 s.f. at 110 East 59th Street and 499 Park Avenue

Mr. Chudnoff also has extensive experience as the principle advisor to several of New York's premier hedge funds and private equity firms, including Atticus Capital LLC, Capital Z Partners, Owl Creek Asset Management, Arience Capital Management, P. Schoenfeld Asset Management, Blue Ridge Capital Management, Corbin Capital Management and 3i Debt Management. He currently represents Sotheby's in the development and execution of its New York real estate strategy.

Owner Representation

In addition to serving tenants, Mr. Chudnoff has acted as leasing agent for select trophy properties in New York City. His accomplishments as owner's representative include the leasing of more than 700,000 s.f. of space at 375 Park Avenue (The Seagram's Building) and 390 Park Avenue (Lever House) following RFR Holding LLC's purchase of the properties. Mr. Chudnoff currently represents RFR at the 1.5-million-s.f. 757 Third Avenue.

Prior to joining JLL, Mr. Chudnoff was an executive vice president at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., where he consistently ranked among the firm's 100 top real estate professionals. In 2000, Cushman & Wakefield awarded Mr. Chudnoff its Most Promising Brokerage Professional designation, and from 2007-2010 he earned the firm's prestigious "Top 10" production award.

Education and Affiliations

Mr. Chudnoff earned a bachelor of science in business administration from Old Dominion University. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and is involved in many charitable and philanthropic foundations including Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. He has acted as a resource on real estate to The New York Times, Crain's New York Business, The Commercial Observer, Wall Street Journal, New York Post and NY1.
