Matthew Berres is a Senior Vice President with JLL Capital Markets, Net Lease (formerly Net Lease Property Group). As a net lease expert, he executes the sale, purchase, and recapitalization of net lease retail, industrial, and office properties throughout the United States.
As part of a national team, the offering includes core services: net lease disposition & acquisition advisory, 1031 exchange transactions, sale-leasebacks, portfolio analysis, valuation analysis, market and demographic evaluation, build-to-suit and capital markets consultation.
Mr. Berres has over ten years of commercial real estate experience, both in business development and new origination, but also in an investment underwriting and analysis role. He has purchased and sold over $1B of commercial property for Pension Fund Advisors, REITS, Developers, Private High Net Worth, 1031 Exchange & Foreign Investors, and Occupiers with tenants that include Walgreens, CVS, 7-Eleven, Whole Foods, Chase Bank, Auto Zone, Family Dollar, FedEx, McDonalds, DaVita Dialysis, and Bank of America.
Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle in 2012, Mr. Berres was a Senior Associate with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, where he assisted clients in the acquisition and disposition of single tenant and multi-tenant investments throughout the country. Prior to Marcus & Millichap, he played professional golf for two years on various professional golf mini-tours around the country including the Gateway Tour, US Pro Golf Tour, Pepsi Tour, Dakotas Tour, Nationwide Tour and was based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Berres earned a BA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Real Estate Finance, Investments and Banking. He is an active member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), ICSC Next Generation, Urban Land Institute (ULI), ULI Young Leaders, and President of Young Real Estate Professionals (YREP.)
